On Sunday 30th August 2009 we celebrated our 30th year in the world of MGs with a Charity Event in aid of the Alzheimers Society. Our customer's generousity raised over £700 for this charity.

Mike Lamb, BHG customer and MGCC Abingdon Works Centre Committee Member organised a very well executed and popular Road Run around the prettiest parts of Berkshire and Hampshire. We received many comments about how well organised it was and what a great route had been chosen. Huge thanks Mike and his wife.
The Route Book was kindly printed and bound Free Of Charge by Fine Images in Three Mile Cross.

We had a Raffle with prizes donated from Moss Europe, Castrol Classic Oils, MGOC to name a few. Hundreds of tickets sold but MGCC member and long time BHG customer, Les Hale, walked off with the much coverted Moto-Lita Wood-Rim Steering Wheel donated by Moss Europe.

The Hog Roast proved a huge success with over 150 people to feed there was meat to spare at the end of the day...I'm still full.

We had a display of some of the best cars our customer's own including Steve Dixon's famous, unique and extremely valuable Le Mans MGA SRX210, Simon Merriott's immaculate MGB FIA Race Car, Alun Howells' Ultimate BGT, John Hayes MG Midget D-Type Special (now for sale), Bob Foster's new LE500, Martin Port of Classic & Sports Car fame arrived in a new Jaguar C-Type recreation and Alan Dines was chuffed to find Ted chose his '59 MGA Roadster for the BHG Team photo taken by the local newspaper photographer. There were lots more for which we thank all who washed, polished and brought their cars along.

The car park in the adjacent field was a car show in itself with MGs ranging from the '30's to 2005 including George and Jo Ward's K1 Magnette and Andrew Flewin's ZT260.

Many photos have since come in from our customers, as a sample have a look at this selection from Tim Baty:

The day was such a success that we will be making it an annual event and supporting a new Charity every year. As with this year, every penny we take will be given to Charity so watch out for the date in 2010 and come in and buy a raffle ticket or two, next year's prize is going to be BIG...

We hope to see you next year.

Will and the whole team.
