This lovely MGB GT V8 was manufactured by British Leyland UK Limited, at Abingdon, Oxfordshire, in 1974 and registered 20th June 1974. It was sold to the first owner by Cambridge Road Garage Ltd, Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire on 27th June 1974.
There is a huge history folder with invoices and correspondence from new and MOT certificates from its first test in May 1977. These prove the mileage as genuine. The folder includes tax discs back to 1976, the original Austin Morris Service Passport, original Handbook and a genuine Workshop Manual.
The following is a list of significant new parts fitted and work carried out recently:
November 2009 Complete Respray in original Damask Red including two new door skins fitted.
October 2009 New Brake Servo and Brake Fluid change by us.
March 2007 New Radiator.
June 2006 New Door Mirrors.
July 2005 New Dual Temperature and Oil Pressure Gauge and Heater Tap fitted.
May 2005 Four New Shock Absorbers, Clutch Slave Cylinder, Gearbox Mountings, Oil Cooler Hoses.
March 2003 EBC Green Stuff Brake Pads and Brake Shoes Fitted.
August 2001 Gearbox Oil Change including new Overdrive Filter.
August 2000 Engine Overhaul including new Oil Pump and Stainless Steel Exhaust System.
Externally the Damask bodywork is in very good condition. The paint has a superb shine. The original chrome V8 wheels are in good condition with 4 good tyres. The chrome is bright and offset nicely against the dark red paint.
Internally the all black trim and seats are all correct for the model year. The door cards are new and the black seat covers are in the original black velour. Matching black trim panels and black carpet throughout all in good condition. The dashboard is in original black crackle finish and there is a black leather rimmed 15" Moto-Lita steering wheel with flat polished aluminium spokes.
Naturally it will be supplied serviced and fully checked over by our mechanics so she is ready to drive away.
This really is a lovely example in great condition having been carefully maintained over the years. It has many new parts and a superb history.
