3/3/10 OUR ZT-T 250 PROJECT IS GO!
Having sold the Grey Whale and then the BGT V8 and being left with no track toy we are building me a fast road/track car from a 2002 MG ZT-T 190. This will be a development tool for the 2.5 litre KV6 engine which we aim to promote our engineering abilities with.
We have the engine components back from James in our machine shop. The cylinder heads have been gas-flowed and fitted with Piper 270 Billet Cams, as you can see we have thrown the dodgy dual-mass flywheel and replaced it with a light-weight billet steel version, sexy or what? It gets better too, we can offer these flywheels for £399 inc VAT. Thats £60 CHEAPER than the original unreliable dual mass one!
The aim is to extract 250bhp from the KV6 with the aid of remapping, induction kit and a new exhaust system. More information as we proceed but the plan is to use the car daily and at as many MGs-on-Track days as possible.
Watch this space...
Will (with excited grin!)

15/7/09 AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM RE-GAS SERVICE
We now have new air con equipment and Andy is fully trained and certified to carry out air conditioning servicing, repairs, re-gasing and anti-bacterial servicing.
Example prices:
Anti-Bacterial Service £39.99 inc VAT
Air Conditioning System Re-Gas £69.99 inc VAT
These operations can be performed seperately or added on to a service. To maintain efficiency and reduce fuel consumption (by up to 10%) your system should serviced annually. Call William to discuss your needs.

8/7/09 WE WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY 25TH JULY 2009
We regret that for one day only we will be closed on Saturday 25th July.
Any enquires can be left on our answer phone 0118 9884774 or 9885774 or by email to beech@mgcars.org.uk
Apologies from the whole team for any inconvenience.

17/3/09 BEECH HILL GARAGE RECEIVES MGOC 5 SPANNER AWARD
We are please to announce that the results of the MG Owner's Club annual survey were published in the March edition of "Enjoying MG". These show our workshop acheiving a 5 Spanner Rating and an average score of 9.2 out of 10 from all respondants. Actually, we scored higher than the club's own workshops. Thanks goes to everyone who voted for us and to our crack team in the workshop; Mike Page, John Alexander and Andy Stanhope, well done lads!

6/3/09 BEECH HILL ROAD WILL BE CLOSED FROM MONDAY 9TH MARCH TO FRIDAY 20TH MARCH
Beech Hill Road will be closed between Spencers Wood and Beech Hill. This cuts off access from the eastern end of the village. For this period we suggest that you approach us from the South via Trowes Lane off the southern end of the A33 Swallowfield By-Pass (Dual carriageway) or via The Forehead from the West via Mortimer/Grazeley. See Google Map: http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=rg72au&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=12.426641,28.125&ie=UTF8&ll=51.374459,-1.006451&spn=0.05122,0.109863&z=13&iwloc=addr

5/12/08 WE ARE EXPANDING

From January 1st  2009 we will expand onto the site adjacent ours. This is primarily a car sales site with space for 30 cars for sale, there are two good size double workshops and extra much needed office space.
The extra space will not only allow us to offer more cars for sale but also allow us to offer dedicated off-road customer parking right outside our front door. The new workshops will allow us to house our many long term projects freeing up space in our existing workshops.

We are currently restoring the following vehicles for their owners: 1972 Sprite 1275 using a new Heritage Bodyshell, a 1974 MGB Roadster, 1974 MGB GT V8 and (unusually) a 1959 Humber Super Snipe Series 1.

The photo shows our new car sales site already in use.

We are very pleased to announce the arrival of Andy Stanhope at BHG. Andy started at Rowes Rover in Basingstoke as an Apprentice under the capable leadership of John Bond. Andy remained at Rowes until their MG Rover workshops closed in 2006 racking up over 12 years continuous experience with all MG and Rover cars. At the grand age of 31 he joins us on John's recommendation and in his first week he has proved an instant asset to our team bringing another level of expertise and experience to our workshop. If you are familiar with Andy from his days at Rowes Rover we would be very happy to see you and your car.

The Good Garage Scheme comes to Beech Hill Garage

As of Monday 20th November we will became registered members of the GoodGarageScheme.co.uk. The Good Garage Scheme has been set up to inform and advise consumers on where to go and what to look for when arranging a car service, repair or MOT work. Scheme members are local independent, friendly garages you can trust. You can be assured that as a member we will perform services to a strict standard and will always have your best interests at heart. The scheme is based around a code of conduct that sets quality standards and proceedures for the benefit of the garage and the customer. Customers are encouraged to leave feedback about the service they receive with a running score for each member garage appearing on the GGS website. The scheme is run by Forté who are dedicated to driving up standards in the car service and repair market, ensuring consumers get a fair deal.

EXPANDING WORKSHOP FACILITIES @ BHG

We are expanding our busy workshop with the addition of a brand new 2-post ramp. Our workshops have been bursting with work over the summer and so to cope with the continual flow of MGs we are installing a new lift. This will help to reduce the diary waiting time too.

This is one of the many recent improvements at BHG. Amazingly our new IT system was 1 year old in September. Among many benefits this has made a huge improvement in stock control, ensuring we are never out of stock of those items YOU need. We have thousands of new parts now guaranteed to be in stock (well most of the time!) The system also runs our workshop diary and it is now much easier to keep track of costs for all jobs with an up to the minute update. Particularly useful for our customers with large projects.

In the summer Graham Sanders, one of our long-standing mechanics retired and we have replaced him with John Alexander. John brings over 20 years of MG and Triumph expertise to the business - a very useful addition to the team.

In July our youngest member of the team, Ciaran Ferris, finished his 3 year apprenticeship. He passed his NVQ Lvl 3 with the highest grades in his year. Well done Ciaran.

BUSINESS AS USUAL AT BHG

We were sad to hear the news that thousands of jobs had been lost with the MG Rover group going into administration. The ongoing negotiations seem to be bringing some hope to the future of our great brand.

We are hearing lots of our customers who own modern MGs saying that they haven't even bothered calling their usual MGR dealership assuming that they closed with the Longbridge plant. Some dealerships have gone or moved to another manufacturer but since we have always been independant MG Specialists this issue has left us largely unaffected. The classic MG cars are completely unaffected however there are a number of items for modern MGs that are currently unavailable through the MGR dealer supply chain. With so many millions of MG and Rover cars in circulation these issues will be resolved and supply will resume as suppliers who used to feed MGR sort themselves out.

So IF you are finding it hard to find a dealership please give us a call we would be happy to see you and your MG.

Le Mans Spares Kit for £5
Are you off to Le Mans this year in your MG? Perhaps you're touring in elsewhere on the Continent or around the UK? Wherever you are taking your car this year why not take a Spares Kit with you?
We can supply a returnable package of spares in case your cherished classic lets you down.
The kit can contain whatever you want but we suggest as a basis that you take a warning triangle, set of bulbs, a fan belt, a set of plugs, points, condensor, rotor arm, distributor cap and a length of 1/2 inch heater hose. If you've got space (allowing for the cases of Cote d'Rhone) why not add a fuel pump and an ignition coil.
Give us a call to arrange your kit and remember it's returnable. You pay £5 hire fee but whatever you don't use we'll refund completely.
Bon Voyage!

Sad News
It is with regret and sadness we report the loss of Mr Don Marsh. Don passed away on the evening of 23rd February. He had been fighting Cancer for a number of years. Don was never one to dwell on his illness preferring to make us laugh with one of his anecdotes from his long and varied life. We never quite knew Don's age; he had seen active service in WW2 so we assumed he was in his eighties. Don and his immaculate Limeflower '73 BGT made almost weekly visits to us generally for a chat and a cup of tea. He was a pleasure to have around. One of life's true gentlemen. He will be sadly missed by all of us. Our condolences to Jean his wife and the rest of Don's family.
